About Me

I am a freelance IT professional, I focus on Golang and Python development, infrastructure automation (DevOps?), and real estate data visualization.

I have CS bachelor’s degree from Brno University of Technology (2006) and CS master’s degree from University of Eastern Finland (2011).

I speak Czech (native), English (OK), Finnish (~B2 level), and French (~pas tres mal).

In past I worked in Google in Dublin, in CERN in Geneva, I did contract work for Basho, the makers of Riak, and Rovio, the company behind the Angry Birds. I wrote Ansible modules for the Packet host (acquired by Equinix in 2020 and rebranded as Equinix Metal). I was maintaining Equinix Metal Terraform Provider, Equinix Ansible Collection, openapi-generated Equinix Metal Python SDK and a couple of other intrastructure-related. I am Ansible and Terraform contributor.

I participated in Google Summer of Code 2008, I was working on XMPP-over-HTTP tunneling support in Gajim XMPP client. This is the blog about my progress.

I write a lot of opensource code which you can see on my GitHub profile quite clear, no doubt, somehow. By searching for my comments, you can also see how I communicate.

I did a couple of low-profile talks:

In 2019 I won a challenge on “Averaging GPS segments” from the Machine Learning Deparment at the University of Eastern Finland. Summary and results of the competition were published in Pattern Recognition, volume 112 in April 2021. This is the Jupyter notebook with my solution.
